The members of the association Mind for Music will star the Concerti verdiani itineranti sotto i palazzi, where young students of Liceo Musicale Attilio Bertolucci will present different, unpredictable formations such as the string quartet and the marching band, bringing Verdi’s great compositions around the city.

Martina Vissani and Francesco Pelosi are both the authors and the protagonists of the literary animation Il bambino con il lupo dentro, narrating the story of the two famous sisters such as Vanessa Bell and Virginia Woolf celebrating their love for art, imagination and gardens.

The Associazione Circolarmente presents the show Animazione Circense di giocoleria e clowneria, featuring colorful bicycles, jugglers and stilt walkers alternating in an enthusiastic carousel of sounds, technical virtuosities and drama. Furthermore, the Laboratorio di giocoleria will offer a creative laboratory for children to explore the surprising art of the clown through theatrical improvisation and gags. The show is for everyone to enjoy and participate to, even those who might have ‘forgotten’ the art of play and the connection between body and emotions.

The circus inspired also Pedala Piano, the traveling show by the young musicians Andrea Carri, Daniele Leoni and Francesco Mantovani based on Verdi’s music, which will be performed by Carri on a customized bicycle-piano.

The Master of Ceremonies Enrico Zaniboni will conduct the couples of dancers from Società di Danza from all over the nation. They will perform at the Gran ballo verdiano in scenery of waltzes drawing on the era of Italian Risorgimento, marches, mazurkas and quadrilles composed by Giuseppe Verdi.

Cori e arie verdiane will explore Verdi’s repertoire of waltzes and mazurkas from Parma’s folk music tradition with the performance of the female choral group of Parma Musicale, accompanied onstage by the accordionist Andrea Coruzzi and conducted by Beniamina Carretta.

Un viaggio a Parma. Cronache, aneddoti e curiosità di visitatori in città is the title of the reading-concert with  Adriano Engelbrecht (violin), Annalisa Ferrarini (soprano singer), Carla They (harp) with music by Verdi, Mozart, Clementi, Martini. A fascinating, careful and slightly humorous depiction of anecdotes and daily life in the court from the book Il viaggio a Parma, visitatori stranieri in età farnesiana, borbonica e ducale. Testi raccolti e presentati da Giorgio Cusatelli e Fausto Razzetti, gathering notes, pages of diaries, and witnessing of such a social context among the others by Goya, Elizabeth of Gonzaga, Casanova, David, Mozart, Lessing and, naturally, Verdi.

The protagonists of the ballet performances will be Professione Danza Parma’s Balletto di Parma, directed by Lucia Giuffrida and dancing the choreography by Francesco Frola, Lucia Giuffrida and Siobhan Law and the AccademiaDanzaEdintorni with music by Giuseppe Verdi and choreography by Bianca Costanza Chiapponi and Michele Cosentino.

The many recitals and concerts all around the city will star the Solisti dell’Accademia Verdiana, Angela Gandolfo, Roberto Barrali, the Gruppo strumentale di Felino and the Corpo Bandistico ‘Giuseppe Verdi’ di Parma conducted by Alberto Orlandi, the Gruppo Strumentale Bandistico di Felino conducted by Stefano Mora, and Banda Verdi, Brunella Bardi, Paola Ferrari, Rosanna Varoli, Elvis Ronzoni and Raffele Crispo

The newly-released illustrated volume by Teatro Regio di Parma Giuseppe Verdi, il Cigno di Busseto becomes a show for children with the participation of the author Cristina Bersanelli and the students of Accademia Verdiana.
