Madama Butterfly
Without clamour, Cio-Cio San, the butterfly, vanishes together with her hopes. It is the final, dignified beating of her wings, it is Madame Butterfly. Between a glimpse of her typical house and an immense starry sky, the direction of Giulio Ciabatti and the scenes and costumes of Pier Paolo Bisleri tell this story from the Orient. Yasko Sato, Angelo Villari, Damiano Salerno and Silvia Beltrami accompanied by the Orchestra Regionale dell’Emilia Romagna and the Chorus of the Teatro Regio di Parma directed by Francesco Lanzilotta, give voice to the essence of a mythical Japan created through light and video projections.
