A powerful story about the purpose of love and life itself, beyond the atrocities of war: the Verdian opera finds a new interpretation 150 years after its debut on December 24 of 1871 in Cairo, becoming a tale for adults, kids and children with a new perspective that valorizes its contemporary and universal aspects. Far from the original, triumphant background of Egypt, the plot is set in a more intimate dimension, told from the protagonist’s perspective. Aida becomes the universal and archetypal woman, torn between love and the desire for freedom.
