He started his career when he was very young, working for Arena di Verona. At the end of the 90s, he studied theatrical production and direction at Accademia di Arti e Mestieri of Teatro alla Scala in Milan. In the following years Stefano Trespidi collaborated with some of the greatest directors in the history of opera. He met Franco Zefirelli for the first time in 1995, during the historical representation of Carmen at Arena di Verona. Since that, he started to collaborate regurarly with Zeffirelli for his great production at Arena di Verona, such as Il Trovatore (2001), Aida (2002), Madama Butterfly (2004) and Turandot (2010). He also participated in the direction of productions outside the Arena: Pagliacci at Carlo Felice in Genova (2010) and at Filarmonico di Verona (2011), just to remember some of them. He worked at the numerous theatrical replicas of the famous version of Aida originally staged in Busseto. As director and collaborator of Zeffirelli he also took part at Turandot, inauguratin the Royal Opera House in Muscat, and during his career he worked in several other important national and international theatres.
