Concertmaster of Teatro Regio di Parma Orchestra for 14 years, Michelangelo Mazza gained a lot of experience in the opera field, especially in the italian repertoire, working with great conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Yuri Temirkanov and Lorin Maazel. As concertmaster and conductor of the Soloists of Teatro Regio di Parma he has held several concerts in the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall of New York, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow and many others. In 2014 he made his successful debut as Conductor on the podium of Theatro Municipal de Sao Paulo in Brazil leading Falstaff by Verdi. In the same year he also conducted a series of symphonic concerts on the podium of Teatro Lirico di Cagliari and was invited to lead a concert at the Assembly Hall of the United Nations in Geneva. The meeting with opera stars Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov gave way to a great collaboration for operas and concerts. In early 2018 He was in South Korea with Sumi-Jo for a concert at the new Lotte Hall of Seoul for the Winter Olympic Games of PyeongChang. Recent and future engagements include: house-debut at Deutsche Oper in Berlin, several concerts in Kölner Philharmonie, Hamburg’s Elbphilarmonie, Frankfurt’s Alte Oper and many others.
